Biogas & Electric has developed an air pollution control technology called NOxRx (US Patent #8,012,746 B2 and other patents pending) which can be used in conjunction with all biogas engines in the market today. NOxRx is a wet scrubbing technology, has a low cost and is better at reducing pollutants such as NOx and SOx. Customer Problem: Currently available SOx and NOx reduction systems are not capable of complying with the California Air Resource Board’s (CARB) NOx standard of 0.07 lbs. of NOx per Megawatt Hour. NOxRx enables a biogas project to use a low cost internal combustion engine to produce energy and comply with the CARB air emissions standard. Product/Service: NOxRx is a wet scrubbing technology that entails utilization of onsite wastewater to scrub pollutants such as NOx and SOx from the exhaust. Therefore, NOxRx has a low variable operating cost, representing a significant cost savings over competing SOx and NOx reduction solutions.
