nCore Communications

nCore Communications will develop software for WiFi access point, to enable direct connection of the WIFi AP into an operator's LTE core network (EPC) over S1 interface (no modification required in the CORE, WiFi standards or the phones). This enables a user to place and receive calls through native voice services (i.e. VoLTE), as well as data offload. The end-to-end connection (EPS bearer) is set using LTE protocols and procedures over WiFi, hence LTE-over-WiFi. The security and QoS is of that of LTE, even with calls over WiFi (i.e. Similar to T-Mobile's "WiFi calling", but with LTE security for all Smartphones out there). This is the tightest integration of WiFi with LTE core network, preserving LTE operation over WiFi.
