Have you traveled abroad and returned to a huge bill due to ridiculously high roaming charges? China Motion Mobile (CMMobile), one of VelaTel's wholly owned subsidiaries, has the answer. CMMobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) that targets frequent travelers by offering plans with no roaming charges. CMMobile has been in business for over 10 years specializing giving frequent travelers between Hong Kong, China and Taiwan the ease of having multiple numbers on one SIM card. This allows customers to avoid international roaming costs while traveling abroad by giving them the ability to make and receive calls at local rates. Plans are available for travelers to Europe from Asia as well. CMMobile earned approximately $12M (US) serving over 100,000 subscribers with $2M(US) in EBIDTA in 2012. The funding will be used to upgrade the current technology in the Network Operation Center (NOC) from a 2G system to a 4G LTE system and expand services throughout Asia and the Americas.
