About
By restricting patient movement during venipuncture, the VeniSTAT protects health care workers (HCW's) from accidental needlesticks, increases procedural success rates, and improves patient satisfaction. Venipuncture is the MOST common invasive medical procedure with 2.7 million occurrences each day. As a result, accidental needlesticks present a serious risk to HCW's. Studies show that safety needles alone aren't enough to prevent accidental needlesticks. Once the safety needle is activated, any unexpected movement or flinching during venipuncture can cause the HCW to stick themselves or the patient. Every accidental needlestick presents the HCW with the risk of exposure to HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. The fiscal impact of our device from both a safety and throughput perspective is over $1 billion. The VeniSTAT is designed with paramedics, nurses, phlebotomists and physicians in mind to make the process of venipuncture quicker, safer and more comfortable for the patient.
