About
In 2015, as many as 1,800,000 people around the world will be bitten by a venomous snake. It is estimated that 125,000 of them will die. Thousands more will be permanently disabled. The World Health Organization has identified the unavailability of effective snake antivenom to be a critical health issue at a global level. Currently available antivenom is associated with high cost and patient safety issues. This largely due to the fact that conventional antivenom is produced in animals which results in unnecessary expense and dangerous side effects. At Venomyx Therapeutics, we are developing the world's first line of universal antivenom to serve the $2B global snake envenomation market. Our mission is to develop and bring to market our antivenom solution with the ultimate goal of making treatment safe, cost-effective, and available for patients when they need it.
