Voxel Quest (VQ) is a game and engine. It has been the number one story on Hacker News (Y Combinator) 5 times and counting. It has also been praised by many high-profile people in the tech and game industries. It was ranked #13 of 1700+ games on Steam Greenlight. VQ features new rendering tech that makes it unique, and enables true solid modeling (something that does not exist in any game to date). It is designed to create open worlds easily and allow users to modify the engine to make their own games. I often make the comparison to Minecraft (acq. for $2.5b by Microsoft) just because it is well known. Unlike Minecraft, VQ is not limited to cubes - any geometry can be placed, and with far greater detail. Whereas Minecraft is largely a "sandbox" game, I am putting more attention to traditional mid-core game mechanics. There are ambitious long term plans but also smaller, more realistic short-term plans. There are plans to license the engine as well as make a game on top of it.
